Deep-sea communication systems have long been inadequate, especially when it comes to timely troubleshooting and equipment repairs on vessels. Shipping companies often face high costs due to delays, miscommunication, and the need to fly engineers to remote vessels. There was a critical need for a secure, mobile solution that allowed real-time collaboration between onboard crew and onshore engineers.
Kameleya aimed to:
Prologic Technologies designed a two-part solution.
We integrated TokBox OpenTok WebRTC API for low-bandwidth, real-time video communication. The platform enabled onshore engineers to remotely supervise repairs while the system automatically generated maintenance reports and video logs. Custom access levels were created for various user roles, and the solution was white-labeled for client branding.
reduction in travel and maintenance costs
reliable remote support tool deployments across global shipping routes
safety, speed, and documentation in shipboard operations
Kameleya bridged the communication gap between sea and shore—making remote guidance,
repair,
and reporting seamless, scalable, and cost-efficient for the maritime industry.
